Hey there! Thanks for stopping in and taking the time to read this. I'm Carol Linde, owner and artist behind Creekside Taxidermy. My journey into this art began over nine years ago when I won a donated hunting course at the Delta Waterfowl Grand River Chapter fundraising dinner. After learning how to hunt, I wanted to preserve the pelts from the animals harvested. That desire led me to learn the tanning process — and in 2022 I took that passion even further by diving into taxidermy. I was able to purchase an entire taxidermy shop located in Timmins Ontario. Thank you Ray from Big North Taxidermy. Fun fact, Ray started his taxidermy business in the Timmins Mall with a full viewing window for shoppers to observe! How cool is that!?

I have always had a deep love for animals - even though from a young age, despite being allergic to many pets especially cats and horses. Some things never change, because still today, in any social setting where animals are present, you'll find me chillin' with the pets.

Being able to work with God's creation in this way feels like a true blessing — one I do not take for granted. How often do you get the chance to see a lynx, owl, or fisher up close and personal? Taxidermy has given me something rare — an art I am passionate about, where my ADHD quirks can thrive, and every piece I create is made with care, respect, and gratitude. Even though Taxidermy can be extremely challenging and give you hair pulling frustration, it is incredibly artistically freeing when it all comes together! 

Creekside Taxidermy is more than a business — it’s a reflection of who I am: a lifelong animal lover honouring God’s creation, treating every specimen with purpose and respect, and preserving memories that last a lifetime.

I don't offer courses at the moment, though it's something I hope to bring to Creekside Taxidermy down the road. Taxidermy is a one-of-a-kind trade — it lets you be artistic on your own terms, and no two pieces are ever the same. Whether you pick it up as a hobby or grow it into a part / full-time business, it's a craft worth exploring!
